Farron L. Dacus is the owner of Longwing.  Farron is a career RF/wireless designer with over 30 years of experience who has designed a large variety of products from chips to boards to systems.  RF work has been concentrated in short range radio, RFID, cellular, land mobile, and aircraft radio circuits and systems.  Particular specialties of Farron's have included low noise oscillator, synthesizer, and power supply design, and short-range radio/IoT.  Most of his career has been spent in entrepreneurial design engineering environments where pushing the state of the art was expected and accomplished.  He also has extensive engineering management and business development experience, including cellular project management, driving international RF standards (Co-Project Editor of the ISO 18000-6 UHF RFID standard), developing proposals and business plans, recruiting and developing teams, developing patents and IP strategy, and being the principal investigator (program manager) and/or chief communications engineering manager  on 11 RF Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) programs, 9 of which were successfully converted to Phase 2.  Farron has 18 patents in the RF field (12 primary inventor patents), and over a dozen published articles or major standard chapters.  He has been a licensed radio amateur from age 14, is also a licensed private pilot, and served as a U.S. Marine infantryman. He holds a BSEE from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MSEE focused in RF from the University of Texas at Arlington.
